Yoga & Diving
•The RI.Perspective
In Mellieħa, on Malta’s northern coast, Lucrezia of Lulis Yoga offers, together with the Dune Diving Malta centre, a retreat built around what yoga and scuba diving share: breath and mental presence. Her approach, grounded in listening and empathy, invites participants to let go of the pursuit of perfection and to observe how they move through unfamiliar situations, each at their own pace.
Dive days begin with pranayama at Palm Beach, continue at sea, exploring the seabed, and close at sunset with Hatha Yoga on the terrace, focused on strength and balance.
With the centre’s guides, certified divers explore four sites over two days, while those without certification can follow an introductory course, combining theory and practical exercises, that leads up to a dive in open water.
The island reveals itself above and below the surface, among natural caves, wrecks and stretches of coastline, with convivial moments in between. The intention is for participants to return home more attuned to their own sensations, more attentive to the way they breathe, and more willing to challenge themselves. For first-time divers, there is also the memory of an environment they had never known before.
