Yoga Journey

•The RI.Perspective
For Francesca Grillo, who travels to India each year to study, yoga is a way of approaching life. It is a personal and spiritual search for the self, aimed at recognising the roles and conditioning we tend to identify with and, through that awareness, at shedding what we are not in order to live more freely. The retreat on Lampedusa grows out of this vision.

Assisted by Flora, Francesca leads two daily sessions of Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra that gradually prepare the ground for meditation. The asana are accompanied by pranayama, kriya and moments devoted to relaxation, with particular attention to silence, to develop a capacity for observation and inner listening that can be maintained after returning home.

Days are spent at Villa Levante, a traditional dwelling known as a dammuso, set on the cliffs of Cala Creta, surrounded by a Mediterranean garden and connected to the sea by a short path. The choice of October encourages a slower pace and leaves room for exploring the island, by bike and on a boat trip. The invitation is to bring the same quality of presence cultivated during practice to encounters with nature and to everyday interactions within the group.
