Glide & Flow
•The RI.Perspective
Glide & Flow grows out of the vision of Move and Surf and Kassia Meador, one of the leading figures in international longboarding, described by the New York Times as the “queen of noseriding” and runner-up on the women’s world tour. Together, they see surfing as a practice that reaches beyond performance, opening onto a more personal and expressive dimension.
Designed for intermediate and advanced surfers, the retreat is built around daily coaching in the water, led by Kassia with Manu Mosteiro, founder of the project and trained in sports science, and June Erostarbe, a Basque surfer who grew up among the waves of Zarautz. The days alternate sessions using longboards and alternative boards, video analysis, surf theory and targeted exercises to refine technique and style with quieter moments dedicated to breathwork, sound baths and exploring the local cuisine.
The retreat takes place in Cantabria, on the northern coast of Spain, where the first longboards arrived from Biarritz decades ago and surf culture has been passed down through generations. Surfing long, orderly waves at a slower pace leads to greater command of the body and a clearer awareness of oneself: participants learn to read the movement of the water and adapt to what the ocean requires.
