Mistero al Rustico
•The RI.Perspective
Mistero al Rustico is a reading weekend conceived by Gaia Lorusso, founder of Barattoli&Co, a project dedicated to books and reader culture. The retreat stems from the desire to bring the time devoted to books beyond its purely individual dimension, making it the centre of an experience built around the place and the encounter with others.
It takes place at Agriturismo Case Zucchi, a restored farmhouse in the Piacenza countryside, in the heart of the Emilian Food Valley. At the end of October, the fog, the early darkness and the intimate atmosphere of the venue become part of the weekend’s narrative frame. The rural setting and slower rhythms create a space where quiet moments with books alternate with conviviality and small incursions into mystery.
Saturday’s murder mystery dinner, with the possibility of dressing according to the theme, introduces a measure of play and theatricality.
For one evening, the story is not only followed on the page, but lived directly, without taking space away from the unhurried pace of the retreat.
Participants bring their own book, but return above all with the memory of a shared passion alongside people who, only a short time before, were strangers.
