Sanctuary of Her:Return

The RI.Perspective
Sanctuary of Her grows out of the collaboration between Nisha Bhatt, a yoga teacher and embodiment coach who integrates Vinyasa, Yin and restorative yoga with mindfulness and coaching tools, and Ambra La Terra, a somatic movement teacher and sound healer whose work centres on listening, presence and emotional expression. Their shared vision considers the body the starting point for recognizing one’s needs and creating more authentic relationships with oneself and with others, in a spirit of reciprocity among women.
Alongside yoga and somatic movement, Nisha and Ambra introduce different languages that give space to sensations and emotions, through sound healing, singing and voice work, cacao ceremonies, rituals connected to nature, and creative expression.
Excursions through Tenerife’s natural landscape are also intended to awaken the senses, creating a more direct relationship between body and environment.
The retreat takes place at Almaíso Retreat Center, a historic finca surrounded by vegetation, with a private shala and several spaces in which to alternate shared activities with individual time. In this context, ‘return’ means returning to oneself, to community and to the full nourishment of body, mind and heart. This can bring a greater capacity for nervous system regulation into everyday life, beyond the days spent together
