Reset Yoga
•The RI.Perspective
With twenty years’ experience in dance, spanning choreography and teaching, Sheida Mas has found in yoga a means of rethinking the relationship between ambition, work and personal wellbeing. Having long sacrificed rest to the demands of her career, she now shares what helped her change her habits. This experience gave rise to the Reset Yoga Retreat in Corfu’, designed for those who lead busy lives and are looking for a more sustainable balance day to day.
At the villa in Nissaki, overlooking the Ionian Sea and set among olive and kumquat trees and cactus gardens, the days alternate between the dynamic movement of Vinyasa and slower sessions of Slow Flow, Yin and Yoga Nidra: two complementary ways of caring for the body. The connection between activity and recovery is explored further in a workshop on Yin and Yang. Breathwork and meditation help bring sensations into clearer focus, while journaling gives written form to thoughts and needs.
Alongside practice by the sea, a guided coastal walk and a visit to Corfu’s Old Town, participants can choose how much of their free time to spend exploring or enjoying the quiet. Vegetarian and vegan meals, prepared by a private chef, seasonal produce, bring people together. This reflects Sheida’s wish for those who arrive on their own to find a source of support within the group, while retaining the freedom to take time for themselves.
